The Craft Behind The Collar
Every Fusion By Design collar begins with an original idea, then comes to life through the hands of skilled craftspeople in our Ottawa workshop. From the leather we source to the final crystal that's set, every decision is made with one goal in mind: creating a collar that's as rewarding to use years from now as it is the day it arrives.
EVERY STEP CRAFTED BY HAND
There are no production lines here. Every collar is cut, padded, assembled and finished by hand, one at a time. It's a slower way to work, but it's the reason every detail receives the attention it deserves.

Beautiful collars begin with exceptional materials. We use full grain English Bridle leather from trusted tanneries, genuine Austrian crystals and solid cast brass hardware because they're proven to perform beautifully through years of everyday wear.

How To Build Your Custom Collar
Building Your Collar
When you place your order you'll choose:
Leather colour: The base of your collar. Choose Black or one of 3 available Browns.
Padding colour: The soft inner lining that sits against your dog's neck. Choose from standard or metallic colours.
Hardware finish: Brass, Silver, or Black. Choose what suits your dog's colouring and your personal aesthetic.
Crystal colours: Single colour or a combination. If you're not sure where to start, reach out and we'll help you think it through. Have a specific colour combo in mind? Leave us a not in the "Special Requests" box here on the page.
Not sure about a combination? We've been doing this long enough to know what works. Send us a message before you order. We're happy to help you build something you'll love.
Getting The Right Fit
Our Custom collars are available from 10" to 25" neck with a select few designs available for 9" necks. To measure your dog, use a soft tape measure around the base of the neck where the collar will sit. Don't add extra to the measurement "just in case". We've already accounted for that. If your dog is between sizes, contact us before ordering. We'll help you choose the correct size.

The Craft
FBD Custom Collars are built from full-grain English bridle leather, the same leather used in high-end equestrian tack because it's strong, and softens beautifully with wear. Condition it occasionally and it will outlast collars that cost the same and are made with half the care.
The padded lining keeps it comfortable during long training days and full tournament weekends, and the tapered buckle reduces bulk without sacrificing strength.
The crystals are genuine Swarovski crystals. Hand-set individually, the sparkle you see in the product photos is what you get on your dog.
Every collar is made by hand in our Ontario workshop by a small team of leather artisans. No shortcuts, no outsourcing.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Will the crystals stay on through regular daily and competition use?
Yes. The crystals are hand-set individually and have been worn through flyball, agility, dock diving, and everything in between. They're not glued on. In the unlikely event you have an issue, contact us directly. We offer a repair service for all FBD Collars.
How does the leather hold up over time?
Full-grain English bridle leather is built for hard use. It softens and develops character, referred to as patina, with wear. Condition it occasionally and it will outlast collars that cost the same and are made with half the care. Customers regularly come back for a second or third collar while the original is still going.
My dog is between sizes. What should I do?
Reach out before you order and we'll help you choose the correct size. A quick message before you place your order is much easier than adjusting after the fact.

Is this collar suitable for everyday wear or just competition?
Both. The padded lining makes it comfortable for all-day wear, and the leather is durable enough to handle whatever your dog's day looks like. Most of our customers use the same collar for training, competing, and everything else.
Can I see the collar before I commit to a custom order?
The product photos show real collars on real dogs — no retouching of the leather or crystal sparkle. If you have questions about a specific colour combination before you order, send us a message. We've built enough of these to give you an honest answer about what works.
Can I make changes to my order?
Within 24 hours of placing your order, we may be able to accommodate some changes. Once that 24 hour order window has passed, we are unable to accept changes to your order since work will have begun on your order.
Production & Shipping
This collar is made to order. Standard production time is approximately four (4) weeks from the date your order is placed.
Need it sooner? The Skip The Line option moves your order to the front of the queue — production in approximately one (1) week. Simply add the upgrade to your order.
Free shipping worldwide. No tariffs for US customers. We are currently unable to ship to EU countries due to GPSR regulations.

Right Size Guarantee & Exchanges
Every Fusion By Design collar is handcrafted specifically for your order. Because of this, we do not offer refunds.
Right Size Guarantee
Ordering a custom collar online shouldn't feel like a gamble. If the size you ordered isn't quite right, we'll exchange it for the correct size.
To qualify for our Right Size Guarantee:
- Your exchange request must be made within 7 days of receiving your order.
- The collar must be returned in new, unused condition, complete with its original packaging.
- Customers are responsible for the cost of returning the original collar and shipping the replacement collar.
- Once we receive and inspect the returned collar, we'll handcraft your replacement in the correct size.
Changed Your Mind?
Sometimes an idea evolves.
If you've received your custom collar and decide you'd rather create something different, we're happy to issue a store credit that can be used toward another Fusion By Design collar.
To qualify:
- Your request must be made within 7 days of receiving your order.
- The collar must be returned in new, unused condition, complete with its original packaging.
- Customers are responsible for return shipping.
- Your store credit will be issued for the purchase price, less the original shipping charges, shipping protection fee, applicable taxes, and a 5% restocking fee.

Our Right Size Guarantee applies to size exchanges only. Collars that show signs of wear, use, or damage are not eligible for exchange or store credit.
